January 17th: Soul-Written

The Archaeology of Loss
Afterwards, I looked for you everywhere, gathering
The fragments of your life, these relics left to me
How can the note I put in your schooldays lunchbox
Found tucked now in a drawer in your room
How can this mere thing, its atoms reassembled into meaning
How can it be here when you are not
The thought’s unbearable
And yet, the note
Answers with itself
I love you, it says
Words soul-written
To be sent beyond the world
by R Nugent
Thanks for the poem and the photo, Rob. Your love for each other and your happiness in each other’s company glow from the picture. I can feel the warmth from here. Bless you.
For always, George.
Blessings to you too….
Beautiful, thanks for sharing, reminds me of one of my favorite verses … “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
So true, Ben. It is the secret code that unlocks all things, if only we allow ourselves to see.
Emily Dickinson got it absolutely right:
That Love is all there is,
Is all we know of Love;
It is enough, the freight should be
Proportioned to the groove.
“It is enough”…
Thank you Robyn. Your writing is so clear and deep. I hope you write more.to share your gift.

Thank you, dear Kaye–though I suspect this is probably exactly where I am meant to write and for those who are meant to hear.
Funny old world that way…
Your note answers with itself beyond this world.
The soul has wings of its own, dear friends…
